Premises 6History of the Family Resource Centre

The Killaloe/Ballina Family Resource Centre first opened its doors to the community in July 2003. Due to the restricted space it moved to the Main Street in Killaloe in 2009. The central location of the KBFRC provides an easily accessible community hub for both community groups and service users of the twin towns and the surrounding area. The centre offers a wide range of services with an emphasis on Training and Education, Youth Work and Parental Support.

“At the Killaloe/Ballina Community & Family Resource Centre, we work hard on developing relationships within the local community and we strive to provide easily accessible information and support for each and every person who walks through our doors.

Kees Duson, FRC Manager

Our Present Goals.

The Killaloe/Ballina Family Resource Centre aspires to be part of an inclusive and dynamic community where people feel comfortable in seeking and providing help and support to one another and whose members uphold equality for all groups, families and individuals so that opportunities for employment, security, personal growth and good health are open to all.

KBFRC aims to achieve its objectives by providing a well-resourced, secure Centre, staffed by a friendly and effective team who will pro-actively support individuals, families and our wider community in an inclusive and professional manner.

The New KBFRC

Over the years, the Centre has enjoyed a huge increase in numbers and has constantly adapted to better support the community. New courses are added on a monthly basis, we have broadened our support in work areas and continue to provide facilities and offer activities to community members of all ages.

As the Centre grows, it's becoming clear that a new facility is needed to better suit the needs of both service users and staff. That is why we are hoping to finalize our move to a new premises over the next few months and move into a more centralized location with adequate parking, spacious rooms and better facilities.

The continued support from the community means we can continue to offer the best support and guidance while also building towards the future.
